Community Partnership Evaluation Scheme Pilot
The Community Partnership Evaluation Scheme (CPES) is a free pilot scheme being developed by the Institute for Green Exercise Research (IGER). Its aim is to help community initiatives evaluate programs that support adults’ wellbeing through activities that combine physical activity and exposure to the natural environment.
The pilot is open to Canadian grassroots, small, not-for-profit or charitable organizations that have limited resources or capacity to evaluate their programs. Through a simple, low-burden evaluation process, participating initiatives will receive an independent report summarising participant outcomes across measures such as wellbeing, social connection, loneliness, and connection with nature.
Participating initiatives will benefit from valuable insights into participant outcomes, which may support funding applications and stakeholder engagement. The pilot evaluation is delivered free of charge, requires a modest time commitment, and includes guidance and support from the IGER team throughout the process.
We are welcoming interested initiatives on a rolling basis. The duration of the evaluation will be determined individually with each group.

Green Social Prescribing in Canada
The Institute for Green Exercise Research is developing a nationwide survey exploring health and social care professionals’ awareness, views and experiences of green social prescribing (GSP) in Canada.
The survey will ask about how GSP is understood, who professionals think it may benefit, experiences of referring people to nature-based activities, and what could help support its use in practice.
Following a round of feedback from community stakeholders, the survey will shortly be submitted to the Community Research Ethics Board for review.
